What is ping time, and how does it apply to PUBG?

When playing online video games like PUBG, you might have noticed a value located somewhere in the corner of your screen which is constantly fluctuating. This is your Ping. It showcases a value known as the Ping Time which is the time taken for your internet connection to register a command in the game. As a result, the higher the Ping Time, the longer it will take for your connection to register a command. This can cause instances like lag, Rubberbanding, and stuttering. So, it is always recommended to have the lowest possible Ping Time, especially when you are playing competitive FPP/TPP games like PUBG.
What is a traceroute, and how does it apply to PUBG?

Just like the real world, the virtual world operates through a number of different routes and pathways. And a Traceroute is the specific route your connection takes to the server you are connected to. For instance, let's say that you are playing PUBG from Canada and are looking to play in the NA servers. Now, you would think that the game would connect directly to the NA servers but that’s usually not how it works. In most scenarios, the routes feature a number of different stops, known as hops. As a result, the greater the number of hops, the longer it takes for your connection to connect with the game servers, which could result in increased ping times and ultimately, lag.
What does "ms" mean in PUBG?

In PUBG, you have a value with the letter “ms” mentioned at the edge of your screen which is known as your Ping. This is the value measured in milliseconds, which shows an estimation of the time it takes for your connection to register a command in your game. The higher the valve, the slower the response time. For instance, let’s assume that your ping is around 280ms. You now wish to shoot at a target and hence, press the left mouse key to fire your weapon. You would want the command to register at the exact moment you press the key but since the ping is quite high, you will notice a brief delay in your action. This is called lag which roots from increased ping times.
What is Rubberbanding, and how does it affect my PUBG experience?

Ah! Rubberbanding, the kryptonite of online gamers. It is the worst possible thing you would want to experience in an online game like PUBG as not it is frustrating, it renders you completely useless in a fight, leaving you dead 99% percent of the time. So, what is Rubberbanding? Well, Rubberbanding is when you feel your character is stuck in a loop of a sort. Your character looks to be glitching out, doing the same commands over and over against, as if it's teleporting back in time. However, you would think of this as somewhat of an advantage as your opponents would be seeing the same thing and hence are going to be missing their shots most of the time. But for them, your character is sitting duck which means no chicken dinner for you. Now, the reason behind this is usually linked to higher ping times as this is a sort of a lag in your game. So, to avoid such instances, it is recommended that you look into your internet connection and see if any abnormalities exist.
How does WTFast help improve my PUBG ping time?

There are a number of different workarounds out there which you can apply to help you reduce your PUBG ping time. However, most of them are either too complicated to mess around with or they don’t provide you with the changes you seek. But there is an application out there which can do everything for you, without you having to do anything yourself. And that application goes by the name of WTFast. WTFast is a state-of-the-art application which allows you to optimize your traceroute with fewer hops and more direct route. This aids in helping you maintain a lower ping time in PUBG. Furthermore, with its Ping Enhancer tool enabled, you can further reduce your ping time, leaving you with smoother playing experience.
What is latency and how does it affect my response time in PUBG?

Most online gamers think of latency as ping which is not exactly true. Though it is linked together, there is a huge difference between the two. Ping is like a one-way route. It is the time it takes for your connection to reach the game server. Latency, on the other hand, is the total time it takes for your connection to connect with the game server and then come back. So, its Ping times two. As a result, just like ping, if the latency is higher than it should be, your response time in PUBG will be delayed. The high the value, the slower the response time. Furthermore, you can even encounter instances of lag, rubberbanding and in some drastic cases, even server disconnections.
How do I see the different 'hops' between me and the PUBG server?

Recently, most online video games like PUBG, now provide its players with a network graph which showcases all of their internet connection statistics like ping and latency. However, the traceroute and the number of hops in play, are still reserved to the developers themselves. As a result, players don’t always know the exact status of their in-game connection. So, get a better understanding, you can opt for WTFast. It is an application which shows you all the information you need about your connection, including the traceroute and the number of hops between you and the PUBG server.
How do I fix Rubberbanding in PUBG?

Rubberbanding is usually linked to abnormalities linked to your internet connection. It has nothing to do with your FPS or your graphical settings. As a result, to fix rubberbanding, you will have to optimize your internet connection which can be done through either your end and your ISPs. And since contacting your ISP can be time-consuming, we have for you some workarounds and which might help you fix rubberbanding in PUBG. • If you are on a wireless connection, switch to a wired one as soon as possible. • Update your network adapter and your drivers. • Verify your game files through Steam • Sign up for WTFast and its Ping Enhancer tool
Why is my ping so high in PUBG?

Understanding lag is quite difficult. This is because there are a number of variables at play which would be causing you to see lag in your game. Ping, on the other hand, is quite simple as the reason for high ping could only be your internet connection and nothing else. As a result, if you are facing high ping in PUBG, we would advise you to better optimize your internet connection. You can do this through a number of ways. You can switch to a wired connection if you are not using one already. You can get a better quality ethernet cable. You can update your network adapters and drivers. You can even close down all the background applications which you think are using up your internet. Or, better yet, you can simply improve your internet connection by getting your hands on WTFast.
What is jitter, and what is its effect on PUBG?

Jitter is how quickly the in-game latency is changing. This is not a big issue if you are simply using the internet for streaming videos or surfing the internet. However, when you switch to an online video game like PUBG, and your latency is changing quite often, you will be seeing a number of issues. This includes all types of lag, including stuttering and rubberbanding.
Help! My PUBG lag is the worst. How do I fix it?

Back when PUBG was released, the game was quite poorly optimized. This means almost everyone was facing some sort of lag in the game whether it was to do with the network or the FPS. However, over the years, the developers have made a number of optimizations which have made quite the difference. That being said, some players are still facing PUBG lag. Now, lag, in general, can be linked to both your hardware and your internet connection. As a result, we would first advise you to go and see if your computer’s specification meet the minimum requirements of the game. If they do, then make sure that all of your drivers are up to date. Reducing the graphics might even help in some cases. Now for the interesting bit. If you feel your hardware is fine and the fault is in your internet connection. Then all you have to do is optimize your connection which can be done through these workarounds: • Switch to a wired connection • Decrease the number of users on your connection (especially if on a wireless connection) • Close background application which is using up your internet • Get a fast internet connection • Look for Ping Enhancer tools like WTFast

As a result, a quick and easy solution is to opt for a Ping Enhancer tool like the one which comes with WTFast. This can help you cut down on your ping times which in turn, will help you get rid of lag and other related issues like rubberbanding and network delays. So, all in all, if you are looking for a way to get a better, much smoother playing experience in PUBG, then a ping enhancer can do the trick for you.
How do I fix PUBG ping spikes?

The reason gamers face ping spikes in PUBG is due to their ping randomly fluctuating. These spikes lead to instances of lag, rubberbanding, and stuttering. This, in a game like PUBG, can get quite frustrating. As a result, fixing such issues are quite important. However, before we get on to the fixes, it is important to first understand why such issues arise in the first place. Since this issue involves ping, your computer’s hardware is not the problem. It is your network which causes you to face PUBG ping spikes. So, in order to get rid of these, you will have to optimize your connection which can be done by the following workarounds: 1. Limit the number of users on your connection 2. Close down background applications, especially downloads 3. Switch to a wired connection 4. Make PUBG a high priority (Can be done through the Task Manager) Or, if you are looking for a simple solution where you won't have to mess around with your computer’s settings, you can simply get WTFast. This application with its Ping Enhancer tool in play, you can easily get rid of PUBG ping spikes, and that too for good.
What are ping spikes, and how do they affect my gameplay in PUBG?

PUBG Ping Spikes usually come into play when your in-game ping randomly fluctuates. This change in the ping value causes you to experience spikes which can come in the form of lag, stutter or even rubberbanding. And as we all know that PUBG is a pretty competitive game where one has to be on his/her toes at all times, these instances can lead to your untimely demise. So, it is very important to deal with these ping spikes before your gaming peripherals hit the fan.
Why is my in-game ping meter in PUBG different from what I see in WTFast?

When you connect to a server in PUBG, you will notice that ping valve shows up on the edge of the screen. This in-game ping meter shows the player his/her network status for that specific server. However, this valve is not current as it is a rough estimate of the actual ping valve. This lead to confusion as most of the time, players’ ping valves shown in the in-game meter is fine, still, they are facing lag. This leads them to believe that their computer’s hardware is messing up. So, to fix this problem, WTFast is here with a state-of-the-art ping meter which shows the user, their ping in real-time. This can save you a lot of time and money since you wouldn’t have to go around looking for faults in your computer’s hardware.
